Gifts That Glitter

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Christmas is right around the corner, and while some savvy shoppers have been stockpiling for months, others have barely begun. Have no fear: there are still thoughtful and one of its kind items available without having to jump on the gift card bandwagon. One of the most reliable gifts that is guaranteed to garner gratitude and admiration is jewelry. It’s a common misconception that one has to spend insane amounts of money to buy a quality piece but that is in fact not true at all. There is a wide variety of options at every price.

Pearl earrings are classic and are appropriate for all occasions, ranging from graduation to birthdays to anniversaries. This lovely pair is from Honora, who is considered the leader in pearl designs. They consistently provide exciting yet affordable collections, as well as quality and value. These are priced at $165.

Jingle Bling

Thursday, December 10th, 2009
This time of year can be incredibly stressful for people: waiting in long lines for discounted electronics, planning the perfect holiday feast, and worrying about having everyone’s gifts beautifully wrapped and sitting under the Christmas tree. However, there is one constant to expect this season: gorgeous jewelry. Mystique Jewelers provides sophisticated and chic gems, any of which would make a great gift for someone special.
The Mazza family has been involved in the industry for over 150 years, harvesting and hand carving coral in their native Italy. At the turn of the century, Louis Mazza immigrated to the United States and continued the traditional of hand carved gemstones. The family was formerly unknown as the supplier to such famous jewelry houses as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. These pearl and gold earrings are incredibly beautiful yet appropriate to wear every day.

Lauren of Lauren K is the 4th generation to inherit the prestigious N. Zaidens Co., who has an almost 200 year old legacy in the fine jewelry business. She is inspired by “women who want feminine, beautiful jewelry that they can buy for themselves and wear everyday like their favorite perfume”. These hammered gold bracelets features a scattering of rose cut sapphires. Also, bangles come separately, which is wonderful because it allows the gift to evolve; the wearer can continually add more throughout the years.

Alberto Parada makes bold, elegant designs that can be worn anytime. In addition, his handcrafted jewelry is environmentally friendly. He is inspired by South American and European artists, and his resulting work is subtle yet sophisticated. This fabulous tricolor ring is totally unique and features a cushion cut citrine in a high white gold bezel.

Classy, Sexy, Elegant- Jude Frances

Monday, December 7th, 2009

JudeAndFrances2

Jude Frances Jewelry is a fast growing designer jewelry brand at Neiman Marcus. In just five years, JudeFrances Jewelry has grown from being sold in just 3 stores to 29 stores. In fact, Oprah Winfrey bought a piece of Jude Frances jewelry at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. Although they admit that they are as different as white and yellow gold, when Jude and Frances met at a charity dinner in 2002, they instantly knew they would make ideal business partners. Today, not only have they become best friends, they have turned their line into a multi-million dollar company. “We are there for each other through thick and thin. Not a day goes by when we don’t talk,” says Jude.

Frances, mother of two and former owner of an interior design firm, oversees design and operations for JudeFrances. She was born in the English countryside and favors the more romantic, classic styles. Her favorite piece in the line is a JudeFrances diamond monogram necklace that Jude designed especially for her as a birthday gift. Frances is inspired by architecture. In fact, the new Venetian Collection launching in June 2007 was inspired by a trip she and Jude took to Italy for Frances’ 40th birthday. “The iron grill work I saw in Venice inspired our new diamond overlay designs.”

Jude, mother of three, leads sales and marketing. This Texas native inspires the edgier side of the line. Her favorite piece in the line is a white gold cuff bracelet with a diamond cross that Frances gave her as a birthday gift. Jude is inspired by fashion and style and has a knack for staying ahead of fashion trends.

JudeFrances Jewelry is headquartered in Southern California. Its famous clients include Oprah Winfrey, Kristen Chenoweth and Paris Hilton. The 18kt. gold jewelry line is designed with diamonds and beautiful semi-precious gemstones. It features a unique interchangeable hoop and charm concept along with beautiful necklaces, bracelets and engagement rings.

Be sure to attend the Jude Frances Trunk Show at Mystique Saturday, December 10, 2009 from 12:00 – 7:00 P.M.
Special prices for trunk show only.

More about jewelry designer Lauren K

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

lauren k

To say that Lauren inherited the family jewels is an understatement. She is the fourth generation to run the prestigious N. Zaidens Co., a leader in the fine jewelry arena for over 90 years. During her college years Lauren began working alongside her grandfather learning not only the mechanics, but also the artistry of fine jewelry. She continued her interest in the company during law school and soon after graduation realized that the family business was not only in her blood, but also in her heart.

Lauren began working under her grandfather full time, and after his retirement, took over as President. After only two short years, she indelibly carved her niche in the family tree by launching the Lauren K collection. Her inspiration for the line was not from a particular stone or setting, but instead, the women she wanted to reach with her designs – women who want feminine, beautiful jewelry that they can buy for themselves and wear everyday like their favorite perfume. Unlike other lines, the Lauren K collection is not made for a jewelry box; it is designed to complement a woman’s lifestyle. The collection premiered in 1997 and was immediately well received. Lauren is committed to evolving the line while keeping in mind the ever-changing lives of the women who bring her designs to life.

The entire Lauren K collection is made in 18K gold.  All of Lauren’s pieces are accented with full cut diamonds and most incorporate the beautiful colors of pink tourmalines, aquamarines, yellow beryls, and peridots, to name a few.  She uses amazing sapphire briolettes and designs many one-of-a-kind items.  Collections from $700.

Be sure to come to the Lauren K trunk show Saturday, December 5th from 12-7 pm at Mystique Jewelers.  Special prices for trunk show only!  Or shop these great designs online here!

About Jewelry Designer Leslie Greene

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

leslie greene

An entrepreneur with a creative heart and strategic mind for business, Leslie Greene was inspired to design her own line to satisfy every woman’s desire for fine jewelry that flaunts chic style, luxurious quality and a timeless, classic appeal.  Designing jewelry for over 16 years, her talent for combining  treasured classics with modern trends has truly brought her to the forefront of the fine jewelry industry.

Leslie’s philosophy is that jewelry should make a signature statement, personal statement, meaning much more than just a simple finishing touch. She aspires to create pieces that become a reflection of who a woman is, not what she wears.

“I feel connected to the women who wear my jewelry and I am inspired by their individuality.  My collections are always evolving, as are my customers,” says Leslie.

A true designer, Leslie’s collections are the culmination of her creative interests, including fashion, home decor, antiquing and the fine arts.  As an avid world traveler, rare antiques, vintage wallpapers and historical architecture lend inspiration to new designs. The daughter of a textile designer, Leslie is also very much influenced by fashion and fabrics of the past and present.

Since graduating from New York’s prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology, Leslie has been recognized by the fine jewelry industry for her design talent. Prestigious awards and honors include Town and Country’s Diamond  Designer Excellence Award 1997, the Women Jewelers Association Award for Excellence in Design 1997, JQ International Magazine’s 2006 Annual Retailer’s Choice Award–Designer of the Year, and the 2004 JA Golden Apple Award.

Touching the lives of many women extends into Leslie’s endless support of various charitable organizations, including Mommy’s Light, The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, City of Hope, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, A Key to a Cure, Susan G. Komen  For the Cure, and other foundations.

Be sure to check out Leslie Greene’s trunk show at Mystique Jewelers December 19th from 12-7 pm. Special prices will be offered for the trunk show only!
