Preparing for the Golden Globe awards , many celebrities  were seen at the  hospitality suites for VIPs and guests to participate in a welcome looting fest. Of the many lucky guests who came out to enjoy the weekend hospitality were Kyle Richards, Taylor Armstrong, Mekhi Phifer, Izabella Miko, Jenny McCarthy, Josh Sussman, Ali Fedotowsky, Taryn Manning and many more.Parada’s new jewelry designs were a hit . From Old Town Alexandria, MYSTIQUE to Los Angeles, Ca. its a small world for Alberto being loved and adorned.

We just may have some great news in the near future of lavish designs made for these Hollywood stars.

Golden Globes spotlight Earrings and Bracelets!

From gowns in a rainbow of pinks to emerald green, one-shoulder sheaths to full-length sleeves, the fashions on display at Sunday night’s 68th Golden Globe Awards revealed a number of key trends. For jewelry, it seemed that most stylists and their stars received a similar style memo: choose either simple earlobe-hugging earrings or large, nearly shoulder-grazing pairs, matched with a bracelet or two.

Golden Globes winner Claire Danes, recognized for her role in the HBO miniseries Temple Grandin, went this route, pairing a yellow gold and diamond cuff with small diamond and platinum drop earrings.

Black Swan actress Mila Kunis, one of a handful of stars to wear emerald green to the Globes, went with a bracelet and earring combo, too, selecting a yellow gold and diamond cuff and diamond stud earring. And Mad Men’s January Jones, who wowed in a barely there Versace, was another actress to go the popular jewelry silhouette, selecting diamond and platinum column earrings and a trio of diamond and platinum bangle bracelets.

The Re-Education of Me

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

By Laura Gosse, special blogger to Mystique

I’ve been living a sheltered life, jewelry-wise; I never knew that there were “golds” other than the usual suspects: yellow or platinum gold. I’ve now come to find out after errr… thirty odd years, that there is such a thing as “rose gold,” or even that the gold used in jewelry is an alloy (a combination of gold and other metals). In the case of rose gold, the other metal is copper and the reason for its reddish tint AND its name. Lucky for me, I met Alberto Parada, the award-winning jewelry designer. Not only is Alberto extremely talented but he is based here in the Washington, DC area and is a willing tutor.

Alberto has been using rose gold in his designs for about three years now. He likes the alloy’s warmth and the fact that it looks good on all skin colors. The use of rose gold, however, is nothing new in jewelry design. Rose gold was used in jewelry in the 1900s and, like any good fashion trend, has seen a resurgence in its popularity, but mostly in NYC and on the West Coast. With the help of Mystique Jewelers, Alberto has brought this style further south. Alberto combines the subtle tones of the rose gold, reclaimed diamonds and in some cases vibrant gem stones, like amethysts, to create jewelry that may be better described as pieces of art, something that you would see in MOMA. The architectural shape of his rings in particular are both bold, and simple in its elegance.

On December 4th, you too can have the chance to meet Alberto and learn why he has been recognized by the industry for his design talents as well as his commitment to using eco-friendly and ethically-harvested materials. See you there.

Jingle Bling

Thursday, December 10th, 2009
This time of year can be incredibly stressful for people: waiting in long lines for discounted electronics, planning the perfect holiday feast, and worrying about having everyone’s gifts beautifully wrapped and sitting under the Christmas tree. However, there is one constant to expect this season: gorgeous jewelry. Mystique Jewelers provides sophisticated and chic gems, any of which would make a great gift for someone special.
The Mazza family has been involved in the industry for over 150 years, harvesting and hand carving coral in their native Italy. At the turn of the century, Louis Mazza immigrated to the United States and continued the traditional of hand carved gemstones. The family was formerly unknown as the supplier to such famous jewelry houses as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. These pearl and gold earrings are incredibly beautiful yet appropriate to wear every day.

Lauren of Lauren K is the 4th generation to inherit the prestigious N. Zaidens Co., who has an almost 200 year old legacy in the fine jewelry business. She is inspired by “women who want feminine, beautiful jewelry that they can buy for themselves and wear everyday like their favorite perfume”. These hammered gold bracelets features a scattering of rose cut sapphires. Also, bangles come separately, which is wonderful because it allows the gift to evolve; the wearer can continually add more throughout the years.

Alberto Parada makes bold, elegant designs that can be worn anytime. In addition, his handcrafted jewelry is environmentally friendly. He is inspired by South American and European artists, and his resulting work is subtle yet sophisticated. This fabulous tricolor ring is totally unique and features a cushion cut citrine in a high white gold bezel.

There is not a single woman on the planet that wouldn’t enjoy a beautiful bauble from Mystique!
